(and other useful property-search tools).
How to deliver all the information we would want if we were searching for a new home and how to do it in the most obvious and simple way possible. Nobody wants to have to get a degree in computer science to be able to use a property site, but how to do it? Well, we think we’ve cracked it, but then we’re probably not the best judge of that. Have a look and let us know what you think.
For some people, an address is a statement, others define their worth by the postcode in which they reside, but most of us need to be a bit more practical about where we live. Whether we need to be near the centre of an area, or near a certain station, or near our preferred school, location is central to the life we lead. We designed our search facility to reflect this: search by the one that is most important to you and we’ll show you the others on the map when you find the right property. You can try a search here.
When you have found a property you are interested in, we will display all info about local stations and schools including ‘walking directions to’ and ‘distance from’ on the map. Our view is, the more useful info you have, the less time you will spend seeing the wrong thing, and the more empowered you will be to make a decision when you see the right property for you. Any thoughts?
When a November gale is buffeting you with surges of horizontal rain, the station walk can seem pretty important. With this in mind, we developed this wee gizmo so you can see how long it will take you to walk from your chosen property to the nearest stations. Online walking times are notoriously inaccurate, but after a lot of testing, we can now provide the most accurate walking times we could find from all properties to all local stations.
Tell no-one, but we are in love with a piece of plastic. Granted, the snooze button cannot love us back, but we are ok with that - a one way thing is fine. In fact, we love it so much that we designed a way to help us enjoy it more. This little tool tells you how long it takes you from shutting your front door, to arriving at the most common London work destinations. Journeys are calculated using an 8am departure time for commuters but please note, this is only a guide and we can take no responsibility for leaves on the line.
This system is designed for you so please try a search here and let us know your thoughts. If you can think of any way that we might make it of more use to you, then let us know and we will use your feedback to try to further improve it for you.
